Director, Website Strategy will lead the Web teams on a global mission to make RosettaStone.com the premier destination for anyone around the world seeking a truly effective, innovative
language-learning experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop websites short and long term business plan, including strategy, operating plan and budgets
- Execute against business plan delivering expected results within defined budget
- Identify all business requirements from sales, marketing, product, CEO/COO, finance and long term website strategy, and translate into website vision and requirements that are agreed by all
stakeholders. Lead collaborative cross company process to build consensus on a unified website vision and requirements
- Manage and build team to efficiently deliver websites and key objectives.
- Create/Build a flexible, integrated website that makes experience seamless, easy to navigate, & still sells.
- Build first rate website infrastructure including e-commerce and content management system that allows scalability, transaction stability, and flexible content and design changes
- Optimize e-commerce experience including SEO, navigation, conversion, payment methods, blogs, and affiliate marketing.
- Actively pursue creative and flexible arrangements such as outsourcing and buy (vs build) to deliver on time, on spec and on budget websites
- Build process to support needed short term changes to website coming from online marketing , international and product needs
- Manage the day-to-day functionality of the websites. Resolve issues that arise quickly and effectively
- Manage changes to positively impact bottom line such as content changes, landing pages, online promotions, improving conversion …etc.
- Deliver on key metrics for online success such as conversion rates, sales and leads. Identify key metrics and analyze and report on them to senior management team. Work closely with sales to
deliver results
- Oversee execution of ongoing web optimization initiatives, including but not limited to search engine optimization, cart funnel analysis…etc.
- Ensure that the company brand identity is coordinated with and integrated across the Internet sites
- Stay up to date with new trends and new opportunities in online marketing, ecommerce and website design
- Provide recommendations on what content needs to be used/produced for online title-specific initiatives
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert on next generation technologies needed to meet strategic digital-direct marketing objectives in global markets
